Loch Palm Golf Club
38 moo 5 Vichitsongkram Rd., Kathu District, Phuket 83120 THAILAND
Designer:Dr. Sukitti  Klangvisai  - 18 holes Par#72 6379 yds

Located in Kathu District just 7 kms. from Phuket Town and Patong Beach, about 15 minutes from Patong.Nestling below a panoramic range of peaks, and sandwiched between the Katu Waterfalls and Katu Village the layout surrounds the largest lake on any golf course in Phuket, Crystal Lake, 48 acres in size, and its smaller sister lake, which give golfers a refreshing breeze off the water.

This is an 18 hole course par 72, 6,434 yards palm tree-lined beauty, recently completed major re-designs and multi-million dollar upgrades. The course is in great shape.

It is a very good layout and one that is beginning to rival some of the best layouts on the island as the refurbishment matures. You are required to put your thinking cap on and keep perfect control of your game on this tightly routed layout.

May we introduce
at the game of "golf".

Loch Palm Golf Club is built around Crystal Lake, the glistening central feature of the course and the largest body of water on any Phuket golf course. Loch Palm has smooth slopes and dramatic elevation changes.

It will take you across and around ravines and plateaus that will test your skills at many levels of play. The front nine sits amid lakes and palm trees. The second nine moves you though mountains, hitting uphill and downhill with woods, irons and even your putter!!

Hole 1
The first hole requires a water carry off the tee. If you over-compersale for the water you can easily find yourself in the big unker on the left side of the failway. Large bunkers also stand to the right and left of the triangular green. A hill and palm trees from a backstop behind the green of this par 4.
Hole 2
Hole number two is a par-5 dogleg tight eith a deep bunker and the lake impinging on the green from the right. With a long dive you can go for the green in two, or lay up and try to use an easy approch to get the ball close and below the pin.

Hole 3
The third hole is a short par 4, a dogleg right. Focus on well places tee shot to the left center of the fairway, which will open up the hole to a relatively simple approch shot.
Hole 4
Four is a par three that requires a carry over water oven from the closest tee. From the back tee a carry over the length of the lake is neccessary to reach the green, which has bunkers set on either, which has bunkers set on either site of its "jaw"
Hole 5
The par 5 fifth is the longest hole on the course and one of the losngest hole in THailand. The most likely landing area for tee shots has a cluster of bunkers to its right an a lake on the left. More water off to the left down the fairway provides futher distanation. This hole requires an almost perfect shot off the tee, an almost perfect fairway wood and an almost perfect approach iron to the green.

Hole 6
As you stand on the teebox of the sixth hole, a par four, and look for the green what you see is the lake and trees and a waterfall. The scenic beauty alone is enough to distract you from your purpose. The hole is a sharp dog;eg right with water all along the right and is heavily bunkered around the green.
Hole 7
The seventh hole, a short par 4, features water along the right side of the fairway from tee to green. Treess are on the left , but the wide fairway is all downhill and it is and enjoyable hole if you can stay out of the bunkers that guard the left, right and front of the green.

Hole 8
Hole eight is a par three that plays to an obliquety set green that has tough bunkers on the left and in the back, Look out for the tree!
Hole 9
The ninth hole, a dogleg par 4, requires a long drive if you are going to get on in regulation. Housing along the right may prove a distraction. the green is very large and challenging and has two bunkers at the front.
Hole 10
The dogleg par 4 tenth hole plays downhill from an elevated tee box that has the look and feeel of a gunnery position. The target is tright of the fairway bunker. If you go too far right, though, on this difficult fairway you may find yourself with a very hard shot into the green. The green has contours that are as beautiful as they are dangerous.

Hole 11
The eleventh, is another dogleg roght. It is the longest par 4 on the course at 450 yards, Play to the left of the fairway to avoid the two bunkers on the right. The approch shot is a dandy of a challenge, so be ready for it.
Hole 12
Hole 12 is a par 3, straight uphill, The green is perfected by two savage bunkers and once you get onto the green there is no easy putt.
Hole 13
Hole number 13 is a par 4, sharp dogleg right. A drive to the center of the fairway should leave you with an easy approach and a good possibility of a home run.
Hole 14
The fourteenth is a short par five and the first dogleg left on the course. Long hitters go for the eagle, Shorter hittlers can still get a birdie.
Hole 15
Hole number fifteen is a sharp dogleg right with mounds al along its right side. Some distance can be cut if you can carry thses mounds onto the fairway. If you drive it to the left then a very long anad chancy water carry down the length of a stream us your lot. The approach shot is a stream carry to a dangerously bunkered green. "Do not miss the green"

Hole 16
THe sixteenth hole is a straight forward long par 3 with a large bunkers on the rigth front and side of the green and another one on the left back. The demand here is placed on putting onece you are on this severely countoured green. Take a moment to appreciate a true work of art in the golf course architecture.

Hole 17
The seventeenth is short and straight but all uphill. The emphasis should be on accuracy in approaching the green as there are lots of bunkers all around it and it is a relatively small putting surface.
Hole 18
The eigtheenth is a par 5 dogleg left that points back to the clubhouse and is one of the toughest challenges on the course. Featured here is an extremely challenging narrow fairway with mounds and and Crystal Lake all along its right from the back of the first fairway bunker.
